Kayak fisherman Lance Clinton spends most of his time using knives in and around water and has teamed up with Spyderco again to deliver a knife that excels in this arena. The Siren shares many of the same elements of its brother the Waterway but offers the same performance in a folding knife platform. The Siren is a back lock folder equipped with a flat ground blade of LC200N and handles of coarse textured black G10.
Brand new direct from Spyderco Knives.
Blade: A fully flat ground blade of satin finished LC200N delivers ultra-corrosion-resistance along with edge retention on-par with modern, high performance steel and exceptional toughness for a stainless steel. The flat ground blade slices with authority while the long, straight spine and distal taper deliver a fine piercing point for controlled, detail work.
Handle: Linerless coarse Black G10 over Blue Liners houses the rock solid mid-back lock which offers easy, one-hand operation. The face of the lock bar is crowned for smooth operation. The handles are ergonomic in design with a pronounced integral finger guard and traction for positive grip even when wet. A lanyard hole is provided for added security.
Carries via a reversible (tip-up) stainless steel black wire pocket clip.
LC200N: LC200N is a high nitrogen, alloyed tool steel produced using PESR (pressurized electro-slag remelting) technology delivering a pure alloy with fine micro-structure. This steel has been used in knives for some time and even longer by NASA for ball bearings. LC200N offers excellent corrosion resistance, toughness and ease of sharpening with edge retention better than other steels with comparable qualities. Maximum working hardness in 60-62HRC range. Also sold as Cronidur 30 or Z-FiNit (Zapp Fine Grain Nitrogen steel).
