Spyderco Meerkat Sprint Blue Gray FRN V-TOKU2/SUS 410 Laminate

The beloved Meerkat is getting a makeover Sprint Run style with a clever blue FRN handle and V-Toku2/SUS 410 Laminate blade steel. This limited production run from Spyderco Knives is fully ambidextrous, ergonomic and just right for a small every day carry. 

Blade: Fully flat ground blade utilizes a V-TOKU2/SUS 410 stainless laminate. Created using an ultra pure Swedish ore, V-Toku2 possesses excellent toughness and good hardness with a razor like edge and ease of sharpening. The core is clad in layers of SUS 410 martensitic stainless steel for added durability and corrosion resistance. The hamon-like transition between the core and outer layers is visible just above the blade’s cutting edge.

Handle: Blue Gray FRN handle scales keep this Meerkat in the V-Toku2 family. The front of the grip has a half choil and pronounced finger groove that allow for an incredibly comfortable grip. It has a well-curved end and contours galore. The Meerkat’s hidden secret is its locking mechanism known as the Phantom Lock. Completely hidden within its handle, the mechanism securely locks the blade once opened. To close, simply pivot the two handle scales in opposite directions. A reversible wire clip is attached for tip down carry.

V-Toku2 Carbon Steel: V-Toku2 is made with Swedish Ore which makes it a very high purity carbon steel. The addition of Vanadium, Chromium and Tungsten offer enhanced edge retention and allow for a very high hardness for even greater performance. V-Toku2 retains a high level of toughness even at high hardness meaning you can run a finer edge for excellent cutting performance without the worry of damage through carbide tear out.
