Spyderco’s Endura, big sister to the Delica, has been a cornerstone of their everyday carry product line since its introduction in 1990. The 4th Generation of the Endura lightweight was upgraded with a 13 mm RoundHole, spine jimping, reinforced blade tip, skeletonized liners, Bi-Directional Textured FRN scales and a four-position screw on clip. A new twist on this classic is the introduction of the straight edge Wharncliffe blade profile. This Fully Flat Ground version comes with a plain edge Wharncliffe blade of stainless Japanese VG10 and Black FRN handles.
Brand new, direct from Spyderco Knives, Japan.
Blade: Fully flat ground VG10 stainless steel comes in a Wharncliffe profile with a razor sharp, plain cutting edge and stunning satin finish. Wharncliffe blades have the advantage of delivering full power through the cut from heel to tip while the plain cutting edge of the flat ground blade offers clean slicing performance and a fine tip for piercing and detail work. Spyderco’s ambidextrous Round Hole opener makes for smooth, easy, one hand operation even in gloves. A jimped thumb ramp provides added control in both fine and heavy work. Just under 3.5 inches of straight cutting edge makes this a powerful cutting tool you will want to have with you every day.
Handle: Spyderco’s Bi-directional textured FRN in Black offers exceptional traction in the hand with contoured edges and an ergonomic design that delivers comfort in the hand until the job is done. A sturdy mid-back lock design is easy to operate and comes with the Boye Dent further enhancing the security by preventing accidental disengagement of the lock when gripping the handle with heavy pressure. A hole at the pommel end allows for easy lanyard attachment. At under 3.5 ounces in weight and 3.5 inches of cutting edge the slim carry Endura offers an excellent edge:weight performance ratio.
Carries via a 4-position, stainless steel hourglass pocket clip.
Japanese VG10: VG-10 is a high-carbon stainless steel that takes a very good edge and holds it well. Popular with Japanese kitchen knife makers it is often hardened to 60-61 HRC. A popular choice for small pocket knives thanks to good edge holding and stain resistance VG10 works well with a high polished, acute edge for optimal slicing performance.
