Zome is an ancient Japanese dyeing technique known as Zome (pronounced “zoh-may”) is a special technique for dyeing textiles and creating patterns using dyes from plants, flowers, fruit and other natural sources. Spyderco uses these special dyes to completely permeate their FRN handles uniquely and permanently coloring them.

Spyderco’s Damascus is a laminated fifteen-layer steel with a Suminagashi pattern, a traditional Japanese art form of creating ripples of Chinese ink on the surface of water.
