The 3rd generation version of the D’Allara folder by Spyderco Knives features some excellent upgrades on the classic design. This rescue-styled knife is named after fallen hero John D’Allara, an NYC Police Officer and Spyderco enthusiast who gave his life to save others during the 9/11 attacks. He would surely be proud of this latest edition.
The Blade:Â Fully flat ground from premium CPM-S30V steel known for good edge retention and ability to re-sharpen easily. Its utility drop point style and large Round Hole opener make it perfect for lefties or righties. At just over 3.25 inches of cutting edge, it’s a great size too for First Responders or the every day user.Â
The Handle:Â Textured black G-10 handle scales are secured to full length skeletonized stainless steel liners for strength and dependability. A tough stainless backspacer creates the backbone that houses the unique Ball Bearing Lock. This ceramic ball bearing locking mechanism provides strength in lockup and ambidextrous access. It operates much like the locking mechanism found on Manix 2 models without the polymer cage housing.
Included on the D’Allara 3 model is a reversible wire clip for tip up right or left hand carry.Â
