The Blade: The Chaparral has a fully flat ground, leaf shaped blade made from CTS XHP. This blade shape is excellent for slicing and piercing tasks thanks to the fine edge and point. It opens easily via the Spyderco Round Hole™.

The Handle:  The handle scales of the C152RNP Chaparral are made from the beautiful and visual unique Raffir Noble. This is a composite material made with brass and copper metal mesh that is encapsulated in translucent epoxy resin which gives each knife a striking and singular look. The Chaparral has a strong stainless steel back lock and carries via a reversible, tip-up, stainless steel wire clip making this knife fully ambidextrous.

About CTS-XHP: Developed by Carpenter Technology Steel to be a stainless alternative to D2. CTS XHP and CPM S30V have comparable performance in terms of both edge retention and toughness all things being equal.
