The compact model in the Spyderco Value line of folders, the Ambitious is a budget friendly ‘little big knife’ with a permissive sub-2.5 inch blade for compliance with length restrictions. The lightweight FRN version increases traction with molded bidirectional texturing while reducing cost and cutting weight compared to the G10 version. The lightweight Ambitious retains the same functional, ergonomic design and reliable liner lock construction. This version comes with black FRN scales and a satin finished, plain edge blade.
Brand new, direct from Spyderco Knives.
Blade:Â The flat ground leaf shaped blade has a sub-2.5 inch length, legal to carry in most areas, with a handle forward design giving you plenty of edge for cutting tasks without extra overall length. The ambidextrous Round Hole provides one hand deployment with smooth action on the durable phosphor bronze washers. A jimped thumb ramp provides traction for added control and leverage in use.
Handle:Â Dual skeletonized stainless-steel liners support durable, weather resistant fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) scales in an easy to clean, open back construction. Molded bidirectional texturing provides enhanced traction in adverse conditions. A +3.5 inch handle length works for most users while being very compact to carry. One steel liner forms the lock mechanism, with scalloped for ease of operation, delivering smooth operation with solid, secure lockup for safe use.
Carries via a four position stainless steel pocket clip.
8Cr13MoV:Â Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and takes a razor sharp edge with ease. Edge holding is relatively low.
