SOG’s Flash AT is a purpose built everyday carry folder built for comfort, performance and discreet carry required for daily carry and use. Fully ambidextrous and easy to use even with gloves thanks to the SOG Assisted Technology deployment, robust XR lock and quality fit, finish and materials the Flash AT is sure to be a mainstay in your EDC lineup. This “Blackout” version has black GRN handles and matching Titanium Nitride PVD coated, partially serrated D2 blade.
Brand new, direct from SOG Knives.
Blade: Timeless and functional, the straight spine profile D2 blade has a high saber grind for balanced durability and slicing and piercing capabilities. Clean slicing is delivered by the plain edge section while the partially serrated edge makes short work of tough, fibrous materials. Cryo treated for optimal performance, the blade is finished with a non-reflective Titanium Nitride coating for discreet use and enhanced corrosion resistance. Deployment is fast, smooth and decisive thanks to the ambidextrous Assisted Thumb Stud deployment while jimping on the spine enhances control in use.
Handle: Durable, lightweight and weather resistant, the ergonomic GRN handle scales are molded with diagonal grooves for grip and supported by stainless steel liners for solid rigidity. Innovative and ambidextrous the Assisted Technology (AT) XR Lock is easy and intuitive to operate and is able to withstand 1500 pounds of force for reliable, secure lock up and safety during heavy use. A spine mounted safety offers additional security and can be utilized without changing your natural grip as well as doubling as the thumb ramp when engaged. The streamline design is comfortable for carry as well as in use with subtle contours and finger grooves for a solid grip during use. A partial back spacer and black Torx hardware complete the construction.
Carries via a reversible, tip-up only, stainless steel ultra deep carry pocket clip.
D2 Tool Steel: D2 is a cold work tool steel that has been used as a die cutting steel since WW II. With a high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) D2 offers greater corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels. With a good combination of toughness, corrosion resistance and wear resistance D2 is a well-balanced, all around knife steel.
