Blending modern materials with traditional design the USA-made Kershaw Federalist is a detent slip joint inspired by the historic jack knife. Nail nick opening, non-locking operation keeps with the traditional theme while a clip point CPM-154 blade, stainless liners and green canvas Micarta scales deliver modern performance and style.Â
Brand new, direct from Kershaw.
Blade:Â Stonewashed CPM-154 stainless steel offers modern performance with a slicing full flat grind. The clip point profile opens via a generous nail nick on a detent slip joint mechanism with half stop for added safety.
Handle:Â Steel liners support handsome canvas Micarta scales that provide a durable, comfortable and high traction handle. A GFN back spacer lends a more traditional closed back feel while keeping the weight minimal. The decorative front pivot cap mimics the traditional shield and a hole at the pommel allows for lanyard attachment.
No clip.
CPM-154:Â A particle metallurgy (PM) version of Crucible 154CM that benefits from the refinement in the PM process. A great all-around blade steel, CPM-154 has D2 level edge retention, AEB-L level corrosion resistance and comparable toughness to other PM stainless steels with ease of sharpening/finishing.
