Hogue’s Trauma First Response Tool is a reliable cutting tool delivering critical performance for emergency first responders with features that can help save a life, be it your own or another. An O2 wrench, recessed strap cutter and carbide glass breaker enhance the effectiveness of this already solid rescue tool. This version comes with a black Cerakote coated Sheepsfoot blade and black G10 handles.
Brand new, direct from Hogue Knives.
Blade:Â The N680 stainless steel Sheepsfoot blade slices and chops effectively while being safer than a more pointed profile. A high saber grind offers a good balance of performance and durability with a clean slicing plain cutting edge. Durable, black poly-ceramic Cerakote coating enhances corrosion resistance and offers easy cleaning and maintenance. Milled dual thumb studs and phosphor bronze washers provide smooth and reliable ambidextrous operation.
Handle:Â Black stainless steel liners support the G10 composite handle scales with a semi-open back construction. Peel-ply texture, a generous index groove and strategic jimping deliver a secure grip with chamfered edges for comfort. The ABLE lock is smooth in operation with rock solid lock up (read more below). The handle houses a dedicated strap cutter and polymer back spacer with carbide glass breaker along with a milled oxygen valve wrench hole on the front scale. Includes MOLLE compatible black nylon pouch sheath.
Carries via a reversible stainless steel pocket clip.
ABLE Lock:Â The “Ambidextrous Bar Lock Enhanced” or ABLE Lock incorporates superior finish and geometry for smoother operation, a tougher lock bar and Wolff omega springs making it an excellent evolution of its close cousin the AXIS lock mechanism.
Bohler N680: A highly corrosion-resistant steel, popular in dive knives. Bohler-Uddeholm designed N680 for the cutting tools requiring higher corrosion resistance and a durable cutting edge such as industrial meat processing knives. High corrosion resistance and toughness with good edge retention.
