Inline with his ultra-strong folding knife design paradigm, Andrew Demko teamed up with Cold Steel to deliver a full production version of his AD-10 folder. The AD-10 Lite utilizes the same design and high strength Tri-Ad lock system with more budget friendly blade and handle materials for an affordable powerhouse cutting tool. The AD-10 Lite Tanto has an AUS-10A Tanto blade and black GFN handle scales.
Brand new, direct from Cold Steel.
Blade: A broad compound ground AUS-10A Tanto blade comes satin finished with a flat ground tip and mid-height hollow primary edge for powerful performance and durability. Operation is fully ambidextrous via dual thumb studs with smooth action thanks to rugged bronze washers.
Handle: The handle consists of heat treated aluminum liners supporting glass-filled nylon (GFN) polymer scales molded with subtle wood grain textured for traction. The combination of liners and a robust back spacer create superior strength with an ergonomic, comfortable handle that will accommodate the largest of hands. The Tri-Ad lock operates like a familiar back lock for easy of use while offering exceptional strength.
Carries via a right or left hand, stainless steel pocket clip.
Japanese AUS-10A Stainless Steel: Similar to AISI 440C, AUS10 offers excellent corrosion resistance, good edge retention and easy sharpening. For AUS-10A, the “A” at the end indicates the steel has been annealed after the rolling, which does not affect the blade performance.
Tri-Ad Lock: The Tri-Ad lock system functions like a back lock: push down on the lock bar and releases the blade. The addition of a stop pin between the blade tang and lock bar to handle lock force pressure results in a lock that can handle an absurd amount of weight (+800 lbs of free hanging weight) in testing. The design allows for the spring to be self adjusting for reliable operation over time.
