The Golden Eye every day carry folder from designer Andrew Demko and makers Cold Steel Knives blends the realms of tactical and practical beautifully. Many of the techniques used to produce the Golden Eye are often only found in custom knives. From the hand-honed S35VN blade steel to the medium-textured forest green G10, there’s a lot to love about the Golden Eye Tanto Point folder.
Brand new item built by Cold Steel Knives.
The Blade: Mr. Demko hit the EDC sweet-spot with this 3.5 incher honed by hand to razor shaving sharpness. The American Tanto version features a line-grain two-toned satin polish finish producing an eye-catching gleam when the light is right. A hole cut out of the flats is fit with the brass HTR thumb ramp opening mechanism offering smooth and easy ambidextrous blade deployment every time. It locks up solid as they come via Cold Steel’s famous Tri-Ad locking mechanism.
The Handle: Very good looking, maybe even stylish rich forest Green G10 handle scales work wonderfully with the brass accents of the Golden Eye. It’s medium textured for security and comfort without tearing up your pocket. The ergonomics and contours on this model are great. Several finger grooves are right where you need them most in a forward or reverse grip. To make it truly lefty friendly, Cold Steel outfitted the handle with a reversible slimline clip (with integrated lanyard hole) for tip up pocket carry.
