Brand new, direct from Cold Steel.
Blade: A clip point profile 4116 stainless steel blade comes with a discreet and wear hiding black stonewashed finish and high saber grind for exceptional strength balanced with performance. A generous thumb scoop allows for added leverage in heavy use while the sub-3 inch blade is compact to carry and great for general EDC tasks. The Atlas lock gives the blade fast, decisive deployment via dual thumb studs or via the lock itself riding smooth on bronze washers.
Handle: Skeletonized steel liners support contoured, smooth black glass-filled nylon (GFN) scales for a solid handle that is comfortable and secure. Grooves provide added traction while a large index guard and pommel hook deliver safety during heavy use. Exceptionally strong yet easy to operate, the Atlas lock is fidget friendly and ready for serious use.
Carries via a reversible stainless steel deep carry clip.
4116 Stainless Steel: A mid-carbon German stainless steel also known as 1.4116. Similar to 420HC with good corrosion resistance, toughness, and sharpness and moderate edge retention. Used in high-end Henckels and Wusthof kitchen knives.
Atlas Lock:Â This patent pending slide lock offers ease of use with exceptional strength. A spring-loaded steel bar rides on pins set into the handle. The forked end of the bar slides around two pins that serve as blade and lock stops respectively. The interior prong of the fork sits between the blade stop pin and blade tang locking the knife solidly in the open position and distributing lock force over the two pins for added strength (tested to over 700 lbs!).
