The Large Tanto blade Inkosi, which means Chief in Zulu, is the latest advancement in knife making technology from Chris Reeve Knives. This model lives up to that name with several improvements over past models made during the last 30 years of Chris Reeve production. This version comes with a stonewashed, CPM-S35VN Tanto blade and Left Handed titanium frame lock construction.
Brand new item direct from Chris Reeve Knives.
Blade:Â The stonewashed CPM-S35VN Tanto blade is thicker for enhanced durability and introduces CRK’s Large Hollow Grind technology with dual titanium thumb lugs standard. The new grind is half way between a flat grind and their standard hollow grind gaining strength from the flat and proven sharpening longevity of the hollow. It also implements a strengthened pivot with a larger stop pin and over sized, twin phosphor bronze washers with larger grease pockets (less surface area friction). The washer diameter is wider than the blade ensuring zero side-to-side play.
Handle:Â A full titanium frame has ergonomic finger grooves for a pleasurable gripping experience. The improved Ceramic Ball Bearing lock face insert provides a lifetime of consistent lockup and smooth operation. Changes to the pocket clip position eliminate pressure on the lock bar for worry free operation. All these improvements make the Inkosi the Chief of pocket knives. The high quality fit and finish make the Inkosi an exellent representation of what customers have come to expect from Chris Reeve Knives. This version is set up for Left Handed users.
Includes a microfiber cloth, small tube fluorinated grease, LocTite, Allen keys and information packet.Â
CPM-S35VN:Â Designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V, S35VN substitutes niobium for vanadium delivering an increase in toughness of about 15-20% with no appreciable loss of wear resistance. Increased toughness means better resistance to edge chipping. Corrosion resistance is on par with S30V.
