The Large Inkosi Insingo with Black Canvas Micarta Inlays, which means Chief in Zulu, is the latest advancement in knife making technology from Chris Reeve Knives. This model lives up to that name with several improvements over past models made during the last 30 years of Chris Reeve production. This version comes with a stonewashed, CPM-S35VN Insingo blade and blasted titanium frame lock handle with micarta inlays set up for left handed users.
Brand new item direct from Chris Reeve Knives.
Blade: Beloved sheepsfoot-styled Insingo stonewashed 3.6″ blade is stronger and introduces CRK’s Large Hollow Grind technology with dual titanium thumb lugs standard. The new grind is half way between a flat grind and their standard hollow grind gaining strength from the flat and proven sharpening longevity of the hollow. It also implements a strengthened pivot with a larger stop pin and over sized twin phosphor bronze washers with larger grease pockets (less surface area friction). The washer diameter is wider than the blade ensuring zero sideways play.
Handle: The full titanium frame has ergonomic finger grooves and grippy Canvas Micarta for a comfortable and secure grip in the hand. Other improvements (ceramic ball end lock) provide a lifetime of consistent lockup and changes to the pocket clip eliminate pressure on the lock bar making easier to operate the left handed frame lock. The Inkosi is an iconic representation of what customers have come to expect from Chris Reeve Knives.
Includes a microfiber cloth, small tube fluorinated grease, LocTite, Allen keys and information packet.
CPM S35VN: was designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V and the adjusted chemistry makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
