Blade: The Tru-Sharp stainless steel blade is finished in a bright polish and equipped with a generous nail nick for opening. The shallow hollow grind is optimal slicing performance with a fine tip for piercing and detail work.
Handle: Smooth, black Ebony wood covers are fit between two sets of nickel silver bolsters that have been tool worked for a textured feel and custom look. Ebony has a warm, organic feel in hand with solid durability and weather resistance. The covers are attached with brass pins to brass liners in the traditional style. The front cover sports a Case Bow Tie shield, while the stainless steel back springs delivers smooth operation and rock solid lock up.
Case Tru-Sharp: Case Tru-Sharp is another name for 420HC, a stainless steel that provides excellent rust resistance, ease of re-sharpening and moderate edge retention while being exceptionally tough for a stainless steel. With appropriate heat treatment, it is said to preform similarly to VG-10 in wear resistance.
