The Blade: Just over 1.75 inches of usable, freshly sharpened American Made BD1 Carpenter Steel cutting edge for the Starling 2 with a plain cutting edge. The spear shape is fully flat ground and comes to a piercing point creating a small cutter with exemplary slicing abilities. Its comet shaped hole opener makes for easy one hand, left or right, opening with smooth bronze washer action. The satin finish is classic and will develop its own unique look over time.
The Handle: Strong full length stainless steel liners create a foundation for comfy G-10. It features contours that fit the fingers with perfection and all Torx construction. A smooth spacer along with no exposed hardware lead to clean construction. A super strong lock back mechanism keeps the blade in place while you work.
The Starling 2 does not include a pocket clip as it is intended to slip directly into a pocket or attach to a key ring/lanyard.
CTS-BD1: Carpenter’s analog to Sandvik 19c27, CTS-BD1 is a durable stainless steel that takes a fine edge, is easy to sharpen and has corrosion resistance similar to that of 440C. BD1 is tougher than D2 with good edge stability for a razor sharp edge and wear resistance similar to that of 154CM.
