The Byrd Cara Cara 2 is a purpose built, budget friendly alternative to the popular Spyderco Endura 4 lightweight. Much like the smaller Harrier 2, this full size daily carry cutting tool can handle tasks with ease while being light on the wallet and in the pocket. Bidirectional textured black FRN handles are comfortable, durable, and sized to accommodate users with grips large and small. Now the Cara Cara 2 is available with a powerful and precise Wharncliffe profile blade. This version comes with black FRN handles and a satin finished plain edge blade.
Brand new, direct from Byrd Knives by Spyderco.
Blade: The sub-4 inch Wharncliffe blade comes with a high performance flat grind, fine satin finish and clean slicing plain cutting edge. A fine point offers precision in cutting and piercing while the straight cutting edge delivers power from heel to tip and plenty of cutting edge for larger tasks. A comet shaped ‘bird’s-eye’ hole opener offers easy, ambidextrous, one-hand operation on the rugged and reliable bronze washer pivot.
Handle: Durable FRN handles have molded, bidirectional texturing and rounded edges for an ideal balance of comfort and traction. A forward choil delivers added control during use while the time tested back lock keeps the blade secure and resists unintentional opening. Inset, skeletonized steel liners add support for a rock solid foundation.
Carries via a 4-position stainless steel pocket clip.
8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and takes a razor sharp edge with ease. Edge holding is relatively low.
