The Blade: BOS Heat Treated 420HC offers great toughness and corrosion resistance with good edge retention, ease of sharpening and razor sharpness. The high hollow grind on the recurve blade slices though the toughest hides with ease with jimping at the tip and spine of the blade for optimal control. The Handle: The sweeping handles of the 556 are made from contoured Red Wood with traction grooves over robust stainless steel liners. The Red wood handles provide comfort and security in the hand with a classic look and feel. A simple and sturdy back lock mechanism offers secure lockup during use and, thanks to the central placement, is easy to disengage single-handedly. The back lock construction also makes the Folding Skinner a fully ambidextrous knife. A stainless steel deep carry clip is set up for right hand, tip-up carry.
