No tooling, prototypes or design drawings remained of this knife so Boker redesigned the knife from scratch, guided by traditional methods throughout the whole production process. Blade:Â The saber ground clip point blade of the 1906 is made from 440C which takes a fine finish and is highly corrosion resistant for easy maintenance for users and collectors alike. The blade has a generous nail nick for a timeless look and ease of opening.
Handle:Â The handles of the 1906 have clean, simple lines and are built with a classic construction: brass liners supporting rich Ebony Wood covers and polished nickel silver bolsters with steel pins and the “Tree Brand” shield. The stainless steel mid-back lock is solid and smooth to operate.
The 1906 does not include a pocket clip.
440C Stainless Steel:Â Overshadowed by modern, high vanadium steels, 440C is the highest carbon stainless steel of the 440 series. It is a very good blade steel having excellent corrosion resistance enhanced by its high polishability. 440C has good hardness, wear resistance are reasonable durability making it a solid choice when looking for high performance for a reasonable cost.
