The HUNT Series new Crooked River folder from Benchmade Knives will make quick work of some of the toughest jobs, big or small. This is in the category of large folders, but it is so well-balanced and comfortably designed you won’t want to put it down.
The Blade: Just about 4 inches of premium USA Made CPM-S30V stainless is formed into a handy utility Clip Point blade shape. This gives the user a bit of an upswept tip great for skinning, slicing and piercing tasks. It has a straight plain edge very sharp out of the box with ambidextrous thumb stud openers for deployment. The combination stonewash/satin appearance is an overall excellent working finish as it will hide most scratches and dings from use. It locks up rock solid using Benchmade’s patented AXIS® Locking mechanism for right or left handed users.
The Handle: It has a great bit of a bend to it to not only be comfortable, but aid in reducing fatigue so you can cut longer. Thick skeletonized stainless liners are the base for some very outdoorsy-looking showpieces on top. First, stabilized wood handle scales have a smooth yet very light light texture for a classic look. These meet up with anodized gunmetal gray lightly tumbled aluminum bolsters. All-black hardware and jimping on the spine help improve the aesthetics and overall cutting control on the Crooked River. The Real HUNT accent here is the color Orange. A notched orange G10 backspacer and orange anodized aluminum pivot collar really set this piece off.
This folder would be an excellent addition to any hunter’s gear or avid outdoorsman that could get passed down for generations. It’s tough, well-built and made with premium materials to last. The Crooked River Wood includes a tip up carry split arrow black tumbled pocket clip that can be reversed for left hand carry.
