The newest addition to the Freek family of knives from Benchmade is a long anticipated Mini Super Freek but it is not what you were expecting. Upgrading the design but substituting some materials the 565-1 Mini Freek will be a jewel among your everyday carry collection. In place of layered G10 and coated M4 you will get handsome, high performance Carbon Fiber and beautifully satin finished CPM-S90V stainless steel delivering exceptional performance in this compact version of the Freek design.
Brand new, directly from Benchmade Knives, USA.
Blade:Â The high performance blade is made from CPM-S90V for exceptional wear and corrosion resistance, great daily use and carry. The high height saber grind makes the blade very strong without sacrificing slicing performance and helps to maintain a more robust tip for piercing tasks. Dual, red anodized thumb studs rocket the blade out on phosphor bronze washers while the fine satin finish enhances performance and aesthetic appeal.
Handle:Â Inset stainless steel liners form the foundation for the rock solid, ambidextrous, AXIS lock mechanism and ergonomic and ultralight Carbon Fiber handles. The handle has an open back construction for ease of cleaning and maintenance with “True Red” anodized aluminum barrel spacers for a pop of color on this striking piece. A generous hole at the pommel allows for lanyard attachment.
Carries via a reversible, tip-up, stainless steel “split arrow” pocket clip.
CPM-S90V:Â A unique tool steel made using the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process, CPM S90V offers substantial improvements in edge retention over 440C and D2, and other high chromium steels, with corrosion resistance equal to or better than 440C. S90V is an excellent choice where wear and corrosion resistance are key.
